Using Essential Oils To Get Through My Quarantine

March 26, 2020

Are you an expert at quarantining? Turns out, I'm not either. I have, however, found lots of ways to keep my little family busy by spending quality time together. We've all really embraced this social reset and have had many humble reminders about the importance of family time, the beauty of nature, and the power in slowing down.

Along the way, I've also realized that my essential oil routines have changed. Since we're all spending more time at home, I've taken it upon myself to make sure my home feels like a place I actually want to spend all of my time at. It is our castle and we've decided to treat it as such. These are some of my favorite ways I've used essential oils to get through this quarantine.

1. Get Stuff Done Roller Blend
I can't write enough about this simple blend. It is magical! I use Hello Apothecary's Get Stuff Done Roller Blend made with essential oils of orange, lemon, and peppermint to roll on my wrists and behind my ears as well as diffusing it frequently. It always gives me a boost of energy which is a must when you are spending 24 hours a day with a 3 1/2 year old. Their energy does not wear down so I need a way to stay motivated. Get Stuff Done also helps me get through some of the deep cleaning I've been doing and stay focused on my work from home duties.

2. Lemon and Eucalyptus Air Freshener
Speaking of deep cleaning, I've been trying to keep my house clean and fresh since we're spending all of our time here. One of the best ways to keep that fresh feel is by using a natural air freshener. Lemon and Eucalyptus most definitely have a fresh smell and they also help deodorize the air too. I just mix about 3/4 cup of water and 6-10 drops of each oil in a glass spray bottle and start spraying it all over the place. I am a huge eucalyptus fan so this scent really works for me but you can certainly experiment with other oil combinations to match your aroma preferences. For premium quality oils, check out Ameo Essential Oils. They are clinical grade and made from pure botanicals.

3. Muscle Relief Roller Blend
Warning, I'm only doing this because I feel guilty! I always say that I don't work out because I don't have the time when clearly, time is the one thing I actually have right now. I admit, I haven't gone all in but I have started and that's what counts! I've committed to doing 100 squats per day and so far, it's going pretty well with the exception of a few sore muscles. This just proves how out of shape I am but thankfully, I've been using Hello Apothecary's Muscle Relief Roller Blend and it has made a huge difference. My achy muscles definitely feel better and help me get through another day of squats.

4. Lavender Pillow Spray and Sleep Soundly Roller Blend
Now is the time for catching up on some sleep and there are many essentials oils that can help with this. Lavender is one of those natural relaxers that I can't seem to get enough of at home. Just like the air freshener spray, I always keep a little lavender spray on my dresser. I spray my daughter's pillow case and my own before nodding off. The pleasant aroma really helps your brain associate that it's time to sleep and it takes me no time to be in dreamland. For an extra sleep assist, I roll Hello Apothecary's Sleep Soundly Roller Blend on the bottom of my feet and behind my ears. It's made with essential oils of vetiver, lavender, and bergamot so it really does the trick. I have had some of my best sleep using this combination.

There are so many ways to use essential oils to get through a quarantine but I highly recommend starting with these simple solutions. Head over to helloapothecary.etsy.com to find more roller blends to naturally heal what ails you!
