5 Ways I Use Essential Oils Everyday

March 23, 2020

Three years ago I had heard of essential oils but I had zero interest in learning about them. In fact, I didn't believe in their natural healing power so I had ruled them out completely. After dealing with a headache that just wouldn't quit for a few days, I decided to allow a friend to put her essential oil blend on my temples. Within 5 minutes, my headache was gone and I was in disbelief. Now, I can't imagine not having oils in my life. They are natural, easy to use, and most importantly effective. Here are 5 ways I use Essential Oils Everyday!

1. Lemon Oil in My Water
Every morning I wake up and pour myself a glass of water with 1-2 drops of lemon essential oil in it. There are countless benefits to adding lemon to your water including fighting infections by boosting your immunity, improving your digestive health, increasing metabolism, and preventing adrenal fatigue. Lemon essential oil is one of those all-purpose oils that can be used in so many ways. This is a must to start each day. Simply add 1-2 drops of a premium quality lemon oil to your glass of water. I prefer to use Ameo essential oils from Zija International because I know they are clinical grade and of the best quality. You can find their lemon oil HERE.

2. Tea Tree in My Shampoo
I work in education and I just love getting those hugs from the littles. With that said, I have to be very conscious of not picking up anything extra when I go in for those warm embraces. With lice being a common problem among young children, I take extra precautions to prevent the spread. Using Ameo's Tea Tree oil in my shampoo, helps me do just that. Tea Tree, along with several other oils like peppermint, rosemary, etc... are natural lice preventatives. Adding 2-3 drops to my shampoo each morning helps me feel confident that I won't be bringing anything extra home from school.

3. ADHD Roller Blend
Ok, so this one is not really for me but it does impact me in a big way and I'll write more on this topic later. My daughter is 3 1/2 and sometimes her ability to focus is limited. Though she has never been tested for ADHD, nor could she be at such a young age, working in education has allowed me to become acutely aware of some of the symptoms. I see her struggle to stay on task, to reign in her ideas, and to focus in on one thing at a time. All of this led me to finding the exact right formula of essential oils to support ADHD tendencies. Hello Apothecary's ADHD Roller Blend has been a game changer not only for my daughter but also for my husband and I. It's made with essential oils of cedarwood, ylang ylang, lavender, vetiver, frankincense, and bergamot and it has made a significant difference. We simply roll this on the back of her neck, bottom of her feet, and up and down her spine 2-3 times per day for a calm and focused feeling.

4. Get Stuff Done
This might be my favorite! We all have times when we just need to Get Stuff Done. Whether it is at work or home, productivity needs to happen at some point. Whenever I'm feeling in a slump I pull out my Get Stuff Done roller bottle from Hello Apothecary and get to work! I simply roll it on my wrists and the back of my neck for just the right amount of energy boost. I love the natural energy it provides as opposed to caffeine supplements or something else toxic I wouldn't want to ingest. If I plan to be at home cleaning or in my office for an extended period of time, I will even add these oils to my diffuser for an extra boost. This blend is made with essential oils of peppermint, orange, and lemon and the scent could not be better. This is a must for getting through those long days and sleepless nights.

5. Frankincense on My Face
Last but certainly not least, I always add a drop of Ameo's Frankincense essential oil to my face cream each night. Frankincense supports healthy skin by relieving acne spots, preventing aging marks, and giving your skin that glow we all seek. Frankincense is a really important part of my skincare routine.

There you have it! I use essential oils everyday and though this is not an exhaustive list, these are the routines I simply can't live without.
